Just
getting to Le Mans at all has was an amazing achievement for
RML AD Group in 2011, after the horrific
accident that befell Mike Newton at Spa
just a few weeks previously. Sourcing a
replacement "tub" for the team's
HPD ARX-01d proved to be challenge enough,
but the crew at Wellingborough then had
less than a week to complete a total rebuild.
A successful shakedown test on Friday 3rd restored the team's spirits, and the car sailed through scrutineering
on Monday June 6th. Mike Newton and Thomas
Erdos made their ninth consecutive appearance
together, and were joined by Ben Collins
for the 2011 Le Mans 24
Hours. The battled through two turbo failures to finish fourth in LMP2, 12th overall. For full coverage of the week's
